NHRA from Norwalk Ohio   11:27 PM | Comments (0)

This is some pretty cool video I took of one of the top fuel funny cars at the NHRA drag race in Norwalk, Ohio on June 30th 2007. Watch as Dale Worsham's car explodes on its way to the finish line.

Megan Elizabeth Pohl   10:31 PM | Comments (0)

megan1.jpg Here she is, the newest addition to our family. Megan Elizabeth was born on Thursday October 28th. She weighs 7lbs 12oz and is 20 inches long. She like her brother had some trouble after coming into the world. Except she got to take an exciting trip to Children's Medical Center in Dayton on Halloween, she was trying to scare us. You may notice she has a bit of an odd shaped head, which she inherited from her mother. She has a genetic condition that has caused the plates in her head to fuse together prematurly. She will be having corrective surgury when she gets a bit older. Mom and baby are both doing very well and are now at home. Her big brother is already very protective of her.

Second Lunar Eclipse of 2003 Composite Image   10:37 PM | Comments (3)

2ndeclipsesm.jpg
Ok, so it took me an extra week to get this image completed. I really enjoy creating these composite images. All of these images were taken using a Nikon D100 camera body using an Orion Apex 90mm Maksutov-Cassagrain telescope as a lens on an equatorial mount and tripod. These photos were taken in increments of 10 to 30 minute intervals starting around 6:30 p.m. and ending just before 10 p.m. As you can see when the moon was near totality it turned a really neat looking red color. All of the other images I took using a faster shutter speed to show the bright detail of the moon so there is no red coloring in those images.

Moon Behind Clouds   03:57 PM | Comments (1)

Mooncloudssm.JPG

I took this photo Sunday night. As the clouds were moving in the moon took on an erie glow popping through the clouds. Cassie was not very happy when I woke her up to show off the pictures I had been taking. This was a 3 second exposure using a 20mm lens and no tripod.

I just wanted to post this picture real quick. This is of the second Lunar Eclipse of this year. I will be adding more photos later. This time you can see that the moon turned a beautiful red. Much better then the eclipse from earlier this year. Also I will be posting some pics of my new telescope. I bought a new larger Schmidt-Cassagrain telescope. Actually Cassie bought it for me as an early Christmas present.

Lunar Eclipse   09:41 PM | Comments (3)

eclipse_sm.jpg

I took this series of photos Thursday May 15, 2003 between 10:30 p.m. and 11:50 p.m about 3 miles north of Troy, Ohio (At home). I attached my Nikon F4 to my 90mm Orion Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope. The viewing conditions started out pretty good, but at the time of total eclipse the moon was barely visable. I.E. no photos of the total part of the eclipse. I assembled all of these images together using Adobe Photoshop and adjusted the tones to match, since each of the photos were taken using a little different exposure.

Tulips from the front yard   05:06 AM | Comments (5)

smP4200036.jpgHere are some pictures of tulips the sprouted at the end of the driveway. Funny story about these flowers. It's a good thing I got a picture of them, since I accidently mowed one of them over the day after I took these pictures. And the other flower got killed a week later after mowing I went a little crazy with the weed wacker trying to get some of the tall grass that was surounding the garden. At least the second time I mowed I didn't hit the flower with the lawn mower.Click here to view a thumbnail page.

He weighs 8lbs 0oz and is 21.25" long.

Here are a few pictures from Monday night. In some (actually most) of the

having some problems breathing to start out but he is doing fine now.
